During my time at Stefan Sagmeister’s I created the two times annually appearing mailer for New Yorker fashion designer Anni Kuan. The mailer was intended to call attention to the spring/summer collection and the fashion show coinciding with the show.
The idea was to use objects from New York, which align with Anni Kuan, as the starting point of all illustrations. E. G. Anni’s favourite restaurant “Joes Shanghai” or products from her fridge. The “I love you” bag was added at the very end as a graphic element. The combination of the two bags on the front and rear side was to relate to Anni Kuan’s fashion. Extravagant but affordable. The mailer, which was laminated into cardboard, was sent to Anni’s customers, as well as her distributors.
